Looking from here it appears to be one of the many copies - close or otherwise - made of the Sun Super Tach. Most were fairly cheap, Pep Boys kind of thing. Most of them worked ok, but for most hot rodders it wasn't a Sun or an S-W so we weren't interested.
I just liked the two tone of it more about function and style than name brand. I just wanted to know if it was anything as I had never seen a tach with a two tone face like that before. Primo
If it's a cheap copy, you may not want to drop the money on it, but you could add the second color "swoop" to a better tach, just design what you want, print it on decal paper, and apply to the face. You can also personalize it to your taste with logo, text, etc...
It looks like an early Sun Tach. if it works, and you are looking for the style and looks, then it may be worth the 50 bucks, and is the seller wanting to get rich on the shipping? could be a 75 dollar Tach. But then again, if it,s the older cl***ic styling you are looking for, Might be worth it
Some old tachs need a box to work. I have an old Wicco tach that has a electronic box you need to wire in before the tach. Did they test it? Jeff
