31 PONTIAC PARTS, complete rolling chassis, nice wood wheels, steering, misc 4 dr parts, rear fenders, no driveline, hood or front fenders, no radiator, $475 Anything cool, that is? Meaning, can I chop the heck out of it and make anything cool? ThoughtS?
Make a little racer out of it. Put a little 4 banger in it, make a minimalist body and have fun. Something like this: Or this:
First thought is... Does it have a title? Depending on your state that can be a real pain getting registration for one of these. It sounds like it could make a pretty cool hot rod. And of course you'd want to keep it all Pontiac by putting a classic 389 (or something older) in it. How about a Pontiac RPU? I'm starting with a Ford/Murray 4-door with a mostly rotted wood body structure. Hope to make a roadster pickup out of it. Main thing, though is getting a title for it.
Thanks guys, I planned on going to look at it this weekend and had too much going on. No pics as of yet. CT is a non title state which is one good thing. I'm just not sure how hard it is to pass inspection with a home built hot rod. Any CT guys have any idea what I need to pay particular attention too? And as far as what drivetrain - you bet I would put a 389 in it! I have a 65 389 and a tri=power that's just waiting to be used. I wonder if a 64 Impala dash could be persuaded to fit in it? Hopefully I'll go look at it this coming weekend. Thanks again for the responses.
Scrapmetalart on here has some '28 Pontiac body parts with frame, a Ford flathead, and I think late 30's Ford axles he was going to build a modified out of.... He told me the other day he is considering decreasing his project load... PM me and I can get you in contact with him.... (He is lacking a computer right now, but I can get a hold of him).... Andy
