I have 2- 8V53 Detroit diesel engines I have 1- 6v53 Detroit diesel engine Can these blowers can be adapted to use for automotive purposes? Are there companies that sell the parts to adapt? Are the kits expensive?
yes, they can be adapted, parts aren`t too expensive, the problem i`ve encountered, since they are the "v" blowers, manifolds that adapt them to as engines are hard or impossible to find......
Dyer's Blowers near Chicago used to specialize in the V conversions back in the 80's. A few years back I talked to them and they had kind of gotten away from the V type.
