I know this is a traditional forum but I am sure a lot of the custom guys on here use airbags so I am hoping this is OK.
Originally on the Hudson I had airbags front and rear and then because of registration h***les went back to coils all round and on the rear I used air shocks to raise and lower the car. Not the best but seemed to work OK. I decided to put bags back in the rear only and acquired someones excess RideTech system without the leveling part. It is really for a 4 bag system.
Kept the springs in the front and put my old bags in the back. It worked OK and the rear bags were about mid to high 60's psi at ride height. Then one of the bags malfunctioned and I decided to replace both rear bags with the same ones( Firestone AB0030). The old ones were 10 years old but not much use on them but one came away from the ring at the top probably from too much strain when up and down on a 2 post hoist.
We then had an issue with an incompatible control unit that came from his other system. We now have matching software in the control unit and the ECU. So I thought we should now do the setup process again. So since we are not using front bags we have just looped the front left and right hoses.
Now when I do setup it checks the front and says they are not matched and left is in right but you can accept that which I did. Then it asks for setup again and does not go to rear setup and won't let me set no 2 ride height or no 3 full height as needed to go over humps etc.
A small triangle comes up in the lower middle of the screen(above the 2 setting) but hitting that gives me no info. I can set the rear springs at whatever and they hold and return when I switch on the ignition on but I can't set specific 2 or 3. Also it seems that I need a much higher psi to have the car at ride height with the new bags compared to the old ones. Now need 80+ and rides hard. that is an issue I will also take up with the supplier here but maybe it is just reading screwed up because the setup is not correct.
Tearing my hair out and maybe will just have to go back to the coils again with the air shocks whicg were always set at around 65psi and it rode good but that was a lot of pressure on those shocks and the old control system we were using wasn't reliable.
PS The instructions given with the system are not very good!!!!
