It might help to put heat sinks next to the heads like the accessory finned aluminum collars used on old English motorcycles. If they would seem out of place you can get a similar effect by winding copper wire around the pipes for 2 or 3 inches. In fact you might omit the plating and wind the wire around the whole pipe. It would be an interesting effect, very steam punk, and something they could have done in the old days. Like wrapping the steering wheel with cord.
