Is it realistic to be able to enlarge the centre hole in my leaf spring at home with a drill press and standard drill bits?

Does a wild bear....nevermind. Yeah, you can do it. Lot's of 'cutting fluid' and some cobalt bits, and you'll be just fine. Why, per say, is this modification being made?

Its a long story but basically I have to use a rear Model 'A' spring bolt on the front spring. The rear spring bolt is bigger on the shank.

Just drilled them all out and it worked fine. Thanks guys.
