If you have the bucks to build a nice roadster, cut this cheapo looking arm into multiple pieces, pitch the pieces in the trash and find a good forged arm that fits correctly. Paint the arm, dont chrome it. PS, While you are at it, get some Grade 8 fasteners and lock washers to replace those Grade 5 hardware store fasteners holding the steering box on. Can usually find standard sizes at any big box or True Value hardware stores.
My pitman arm taper has been flipped. We welded up the eye hole then re drilled it before using the correct pitch reamer to re taper the hole. Now the drag link mounts to the outboard side.
This is the correct way to do it, IMO anyhow, I never was a big fan of the taper both way method, As you only have about 3/8 holding the tierod. If you weld up the hole drill and re-ream it you have the full thickness (about 3/4 holding it. I do the same thing to early ford spindles when needed.
