I'm hoping for a little help here!

The FlatCad had a 4 page feature in the 2012 Street Machine Hot Rod Annual. I wanted to order 15, so that all the team members would have one. The online store, however, wants $105 in shipping.

Can someone 'Down Under" help me with this? It would be much appreciated!

It's actually a 5 page feature!! I just weighed my copy and it weighs close to 15 oz. 15 copies plus some packaging and I calculated over $140 for airmail and nearly $90 for sea freight and I didn't allow nearly enough for packaging if you want them to arrive in pristine condition. That was based on the Australia Post rates. I hope Hemiken can help you out.

  5. Unfortunately our postage rates are very expensive, I have sold stuff overseas and have had a shock when getting a postage quote.
Anyone got a car going stateside?

They are definitly not cheap to ship. I order a single magazine every now and then from ePay & the shipping is around $10 for one magazine. Can you call 'Street Machine' direct and see it they can ship you some magazines via' their shipping rate?

I'm planning on being in California in late May early June for LA Roadster show,I could bring them over in my luggage,if your prepared to wait till then. You could also put a post up on ozrodders (our version of the hamb) and you might get better results.

Hi Buddy, I did some checking also. 15 books weighing 15oz each come to a total of 6.3786 Kilograms/14.0624 pounds. I have checked with Australia post and they are quoting US$133.76/Aus$127.35 for Airmail, and US$85.13/Aus$81.05 for seamail (snailmail). If someone is flying over soonish it would be most beneficial to you, i will check with another company tomorrow when they are open also to get another price for you old mate.

Tie a bunch of helium filled balloons to the box of magazines, that should help offset shipping costs

  14. $28.00 for one copy of a magazine from South Australia to McTims house "just below Fresno":eek::eek:
I would take their offer of $105!

    Couple of big IFS

If you could get them to NZ cheap
It would then cost $102 NZ to ship them to USA
    SO

No we are not cheap!! LOL

We know what we are - we're just settling on the price!!:p

Sorry Buddy - no advantage in sending them to you via us here in NZ - Thought I would try to see if there was an advantage but there is not one to be had.

Posted the request on the Street Machine Facebook page. It may turn out that Facebook is useful for something

  20. Facebook is probably the most useful marketing tool in the world.
The problem is that most people can't see the wood for the trees.
eg, they see kids having fun on FB and miss the marketing potential completely.

There's probably a hundred bucks worth of laughs at our prices and range in the ads. Unless you feel empathy, then there's just cringing:D

    Thanks everyone!

Photo copies aren't the answer, as I want to see that every team member recives an original copy.

    Chris,

    I really appreciate the help!

One of the members has an in, and can get me copies for $5 each, instead of the $12.95 they were charging me. That offsets costs a bunch! Shipping to OZ isn't bad, but evidently shipping from OZ is!

WOW, getting the copies at a reduced price will help offset the shipping, Internal shipping ****s even over here also, it would be awesome if we had the internal infrastructure with shipping that the US does, would have been much easier to help out, sorry i could not do any better, if i owned Australia Post or was heading over next week, i would have been a big help. :D ;)
