OK guys and gals, after a long week of dealing with headaches I decided that instead of dealing with booger welds on my frame, I would deal with some mechanical issues and start getting into the rear end. I got the torque tube off then lo and behold, the master welder with his cold AC buzz box and 6013 rod has struck again. There appears to be a pin through the "sleeve", so the weld isn't as big of a concern as the weld on the bottom side is. Can I cut all of this **** off and repair this mess, or should I bank on ratholing some cash and finding another rear end?

The torque tube doesn't bother me too much - I can make a proper eye for the radius arms and get it back in shape. The driveshaft concerns me though. I don't think my 1937 model 6x18 lathe is going to do me much good trying to fix that mess, and I also don't think that there is a driveline shop within 4 hours of here.

Seeing as my differential teardown and repair knowledge pretty much begins and ends at 9 inchers and Dana 44's any help would be greatly appreciated.

Punch the pin out and replace the coupler and shaft, both are available new.
