    3. primer to match
    4. make reservation at "bend-in-the-road"

A custom built 2X4 frame and some late model dually axles (front and rear) slammed to the ground with a chopped top truck cab. Add a hand crank wrecker boom such as the Poverty Flats tow truck has , and you are in business. Could be very expensive to build and the resell might not be there but would be fun.

You can be cool or you can be practical. As you get older, you realize Bonneville is a long drive from anywhere. Give me plenty of suspension travel.

There is a similar one that shows up around Spokane. I will try and find the pics.

I talked to the young guy who built it. He was a cool kid.
He was from Idaho if I remember correctly. It is basically an RV ch***is that has been modified. Both front and rear suspension is RV as is most of the frame. He Z'd the front and rear pretty drastically. Yes, it is bagged in the front.
The steering setup is what scared the **** out of me. It was more or less two overlapping arms welded together.
And yes, he trailered it to Wendover. That seems to be the case lately; built something out of s****, call it a rat rod and then trailer it like a queen.

I'd build it, laught at it, and put it on the trailer aimed for the s**** yard.

I have the pics of the one in Spokane, I just have to shrink them enough to get them on here.

Okay, I stand corrected, if you're takin' it to the s****yard, then a trailer would be a good idea.

  20. The idea is kinda cool, "de-ratify" it...add some ground clearance and nice fit and finish work. Hide a late model diesel under a hood, and it would actually be useful.

Having a little towtruck experience, I'd have to say towing something with that would be dangerous (to put it mildly).

I'm not going to p*** judgment on the rest of it. The old "if you have nothing nice to say...." applies here.

As does this vehicle, so, I reckon trailering that mess is appropriate.

I dig it with a shovel man. Its very cool in a radical way. When he was at Bonne~ he should have gone and earned some money with it trying to free Boyd's motorhome.

well if it wasnt chooped and so low it would be cool. If you could take maybe a COE and do one that was really functional and nicely done people would be more likely to take to the idea of it.

  30. You have a dually fanatic here so I ain't gonna disparage the truck. My only changes to suit my taste and fat *** would be finish body and paint nicely, late model F/I turbo diesel(Duramax), air bag the thing. If I could fit in the cab, I would leave it chopped and put on some decent mirrors.
