I was going through some old magazine's over the weekend, and found in the July 2000 Rod & Custom on page 87 there is a photo of a very nice wagon like this. It doesn't look chopped, just dropped, and has (wait for it...) Torquethrusts on it... It still looks pretty darn good. You may want to check it out...

Did you end up buying it?

Interesting that GM is calling the sliding roof a new idea, yea! like they coped it after 35 years and think they invented it. Good to find a solid one, the sliders are natoriously leaky. How about a two tone, dark bottom light hood and and roof. Seen some neat stuff in maroon and cream.

Some nice AR torque thrusts. I wouldn't do 18's and rubberbands. Studes are cool. What's in it for motive power? Be a nice place for a Jeep 4.0 H/O 190 HP stock 4 speed auto with a good lock up, easy to split the manifold for dual exhaust. cr

  4. "I've never seen one of those before...What'll those city boys think of next".....I think that can be made into one cool Studebaker. My 2 cents on that one are you ready; "A STUDEBAKER EL CAMINO/RANCHERO CONVERSION"! You can do it!:D Gary 4T950 Chevy Guy

That thing is way cool. Don't think I've ever seen a vehicle in such desperate need of a chop though. Shave a little off her and that will be one badass wagon.

You got a better deal here with the Rambler. The famly across the street had one of these when I was a kid in the 60's. They would load up on Saturday night and head for the drive in. When they got there they would back in the stall and slide the roof back and watch "let's all go to the lobby" and enjoy the stars. Didn't Detroit bring this back on a Chevy SUV?

Awesome lines and you'll see few others! I'm jealous!!!!!!!!!

I just contacted the guy who was selling it. I offered him $3000 and he said he would have taken it but he sold today. Oh well.
