IMG_1690.jpeg A good buddy sent me the one on the left yesterday. He said it had a small chip in it. To be fair He didn’t know exactly what it was suppose to look like as his own coupe is at his Lake House 3 hours away. And it’s a RH one , so it can join its broken brothers.

Summit has to get them from Back order Bob and he is out of stock. May have to get one from Wescotts ,but at $150 plus shipping it is getting up there.

And, compared with what seems to be the new norm these days, that shipping is cheap!

Now you've got two busted ones, cut one into strips as filler rod and practice welding on the other before fixing the cracked one?

You're wasting time; Grab a chunk of aluminum and start whittling.

  11. JB weld them back together and recast them out of aluminum in a solid one piece then machine and install, you'll be able to sell more to other owners if you run an ad in HAMB Parts for Sale. That'll recover your costs.

Muggy weld works great for this. I tried it on a 1964 t bird grill bar that was broken off, it was also pot metal. Just takes a bit of practice.

I would be tempted to cast one in urethane plastic. Make a silicone mold of the part then cast in rigid urethane. I've done a bunch of such casting in model making and it is super easy. The mold is useable forever.

Here are the resins I use. Both have quick cure times measured in minutes for us rodders who demand instant gratification! Both are available on Amazon or Walmart mail order. you need a release agent for the silicone/original part casting but not for the silicone/urethane casting.

I don’t know those are hard to find but I’d exhaust every effort to find another. Just hope they aren’t as scarce as hens teeth

Back order Bob is out of stock, would have never guessed…@KiWinUS has a NOS stand for us ,yay. Thanks buddy. I don’t want to chance a mixture of resin or JB weld that may possibly work . But have found some rods so still want to have a go at welding the cracked one. Ba
