  3. Hmm most my manifolds are just hanging around for decor ...
Leaks are common.. Really doubt if this one would be noticed with the sender in place

There's a place in downtown Mesquite that welds aluminum. He does smoe super expensive canfield heads and lots of high end dragster stuff, but his prices are affordable to the regular guy. I wish I could remember his name.

He told me $40 to repair my cracked pontiac x-2. I haven't had the time to get it to him, but I can vouch for his work. We took him some Ferrari Testarossa heads that had had damage from a dropped valve and they came back as good as new.

    Here's the shop.

  7. Ray Gun nailed it. If you decide to do it right and have it welded, be CERTAIN to drill a small hole at the end of the crack first. Even if you decide to do the JB weld thing, the hole is still the best insurance. The crack will stop at the hole, but may continue if you don't drill it. Doesn't have to be much; 1/64 will do it if you're sure you drill at the end of the crack.

  10. Turn him in for what nearly 6 weeks later exactly? He refunded the money, what more do you want?

After getting a bad aluminum intake off ebay I will not buy a used manifold again unless its for a motor that no new parts are made for it,I have noticed that people selling intakes at swapmeets want almost as much as the new ones go for so its going to be new intake for common motors from now on.

Id have it welded, grind it smooth and have it spot sand blasted. The sandblasting should get the texture close. But if its not a rare intake you will probaly have more in it then its worth.

get an alum. pipe ******,cut it in half, drill out the old threads on the intake to the same size hole as the pipe ******,weld the new ****** in the hole you drilled.
Thats the way to do it,I've done lots of them.
If you just try to weld what you have,it will crack again.

Since you aren't going to post his ebay user name, let's move on.
Let's see a picture of the rest of it. How much you want for it?
