Wish I could have helped with the build or had parts to donate. At least I could buy some shirts. Put me down for two. One XL for the old guy and a M for the son of the Deadbird. We're keeping our fingers crossed for artwork from the likes of Norwell, Tuck, or ??? Can't wait to see the results.
I hope we can stick with the one idea and not get sidetracked. We have an offer to design and print the T-shirts, now we need to find a way to get the money gathered to pay for the project and not have the person who offered to do it, have to go out of pocket. Great ideas need implementation. Can someone design a database to handle the orders? Is there a business alliance member who could process the orders? I am getting a headache and need to rest. I'm retired you know.
This was a concept sketch done by Conder, here on the board, which I think would really make a cool Hambandy t-shirt, of course with Conder's blessing that is.
I would imagine that with all the out of pocket expenses, time off work for Andy's parents, flights to Calif./WA state, etc. they would be very grateful for the proceeds from the t-shirts. If they are flush then yes a chairity of their choice would be nice.
Stealing Condor's design and adding some lettering. This would be in the formal black attire of the HAMB. To whoever may do the shirt, I could provide vectors for the colors. This is just a suggestion and I am sure Norwell or some of the actually good guys could improve. Looking at it, I think I will add some white highlights to the lettering
The original thought is to help Andy. You are right I overlooked the phrase above and that is easily correctable. I sure wasn't changing anything to my liking, just an oversight.
I would be glad to do the shirts at cost...which means basically no charge for printing is somebody/fund could reimburse me for the cost of the blank tees...I like the HAMBANDY is a friend of mine idea...rock on Andy and enjoy your car!
How about putting Condor's sketch ,with permission of course,on the back. And putting "HAMBandy is a friend of mine on the front". That would be tasty. Doc.
We be big.. but we gotta have room for out big old hearts. This is an awesome design. I love this, and would change my order to include a few 'spares' for when the first one wears out! Now this is a marriage of the two ideas that would be perfect. I know the original idea was something simple, but I friggin LOVE the design in the picture. That couldn't sum it up any better. The only thing I could improve upon the above idea would be to include a HAMB logo. After all, this is the place that originally made it all happen, complete with our adopting Andy. Now... lets get this done!
I'll get the chance to see Chris tommorrow, i'll toss the idea out to him and see how they feel. I have a connection who owes me a "HOT" favor!!!! So ya never know the possibilities. Leon
To keep profits for Andy up & costs down, the design will have to be simple. I'm no good one a computer but am thinking about a one (maybe two) color design that would include the slogan & perhaps a silhouette of the car..... but perhaps not. This isn't about the car. Three different designs from three different people - morphed onto one shirt - would be tough. Aesthetically & financially. I like hotrod1940's "oval" & HAMBANDY font. I like Condor's art. The fades & blended colors would cost more to print though. Below is a totally hacked version of hr40's that I think might come in under budget with a little tweaking. Leon, let me know what you hear. JH
On the other side of the coin, a good and colorful design may sell more shirts. None of our thoughts should affect the price because we are donating not charging. If someone can handle orders the funds should be pre_production. The only costs would be the additional colors and someone's labor to make the additionals pulls.Printing on a black shirt would probably require a flash dryer between coats. The actual upfront costs would be the shirt blanks. The blends could be backed out like the first design. My thoughts.
I just got the pm from Deville Gal, you guys can do whatever is needed with the art, I sent Andy the original. I'll also do a cool Roth style monster shirt design with Andy driving his car if he'd prefer that! Let me know...
What kind of $ do you need to front the shirts? I just sold a car and have some cash I could front. Of course, I'm a ***** for interest. Say 4 or 5 shirts. 2@2xl, 2@L, 1@M.
How about, " HANBANDY RULES!" (Paid for by the "Building a better Hotrod" Coalition) I'd pay $40 bones for a shirt with that on it!!!
Great idea Kevin, Ken said that same thing earlier this evening. Conder has given his premission and even more, as you see above. I really like what hotrod1940 has done to enhance Conder's drawing but I also really like Conder's drawing in it's orginal state with the words. Of course all this is just my opinion.
