I am in the process of installing my engine and trans, and steering box for my A Tudor Build.

    SBC
    700R4
    Vega Box (cross steer)

Currently I have the welder series sbc mounts, and they are nice but interfear with the placement of the Vega box. and the steering components.(on my set up)

was also thinking of the Vendetta auto Fab style ..I call that style the "puck" mount because it has a round rubber bushing on the top of the fame mount that the engine mount sits on top of.

Not sure if those too would have interference issues or not.??

I want to run my SBC low in the frame (center of the engine mounts on the block, even with the top of the A frame.)

The pan is well above the scrub line, and it gives me the low center of gravity i want up front.

What have you guys done? can you show me?
Have you made your own? what do they look like?

    Thanks

  2. i've made my own mounts in every A or `32 i have built exceptone , all of them also had vega boxes. they are basically copies of Pete & Jake's. yes, the brace on the underside does interfere with the vega box....you have to do a little trimming and run it at an angle.

i did the mounts in `32 with Chassis Engineering mounts....they needed some trimming too.

here is a picture of top side of the mount in my `28 tudor . i will try and get a picture of the bottom.

    Thanks 36
looks like you are running your engine a bit higher in the frame than I

how much upward slant do you have to the mount?..I could come up an inch or 2 if that might help me.

do you have a straight on shot of that mount?

did you place the steering box where it needed to be first, than worked out where the engine mount went after?

My engine and******* are very low in the frame, minimal transmission hump inside. It was a little tight, but all the steering angles came out good.

This looks like how my sbc is sitting in the frame..is that a front mount?
whos mount? are you supporting the rear of the engine or front of the trans some way?
alot of stress on the trans housing if not..

  7. the plates on the mounts are level , the tubes the bolts go through are even with the top of the frame

    ok
so are my mounts.(mine look close to what you have there).maybe i gotta get creative with the gusset..
im going to take a better look at it..how long is your pitman arm? maybe thats what is putting my box in the same area as the mount too much
    thanks
