Can you build a hot rod without a dial indicator?

Well.......they are folks that go overboard sometimes.....and sometimes I am one of these jerks. Parts are not as cheap as they were, the streets are also more crowded now.....and as you say.....the safety police are everywhere.

I try to give back to the community that has given so much to me the past 40 someodd years. I love cars and rods....and the folks that drive them are good people.

Alot of people can't stand machinists. I'm a trained machinist and a master welder........I build racing setups for the folks in the over 240 MPH club. I can't drive! I can't cut a perfect light! I can't paint, and I can't draw!I can't cut donuts very well .

BUT.......you give me a engine and a blower.......and the right tools.......I'll make that guy in the next lane redlight bigger than hell or he'll be blowing his engine or going up in smoke!!!!!!!!!! Thats what I do! Thats what I'm good at!

Yes, you can build a car without a dial indicator. You can build a car without a mic. You can also build a car without a welder and a 4 1/2 grinder.......But more and more these days, to both be safe and to make your ride live......alot of these things ARE NECESSARY!

When you rebuild a engine.....or even re-ring one.......its best to have some of these tools.....plus some. I'm sorry some folks get to be harsh, and sometimes intolerant. Some of us forget sometimes that we were once the ignorant ones. We don't do these things on purpose.

I'm saying......an i'm assumming alot on my part, if my brothers in the wrenching world here at the HAMB boards have offended ya in any way.....please excuse us.
But if ya are sayin' we don't know what we're doin'.............shut your dawm piehole and get the freak outta my way.....We got rods to build!

I think its funny we are trying to copy and build cars that teenagers in the 40's, 50's,and 60's built with hand tools in the driveway. I don't think you have to have all the precision tools just common sense.
