I was selling these ashtrays in the classifieds & I was pretty sure they were from a 33 Chevrolet Master sedan .Anyways some guy from AACA tells Me there off a Mercury. Can someone tell Me that Iam right, because Id hate to be wrong.
I am not up on those Chevys, but I thought there was a Chevy model called Mercury? If that is true, maybe that's what the AACA guy means?
don't know what those are for, mine doesn't have it, but i wouldn't have thought something like that would have been different for the mercury series cars. my buddy Mike has a '33 accessory book and will look it up when he get's back from vacation for us.
In 1933 Chevrolet made two levels- the Eagle and the Mercury. The Mercury became the Standard, and many argue that the name was never officially used by Chevrolet - but most believe it was. More important to this discussion is that those are 1933 Chevrolet rear seat ashtray's as seen in the 1933 Chevrolet Mercury.

never heard of the eagle either. I have some early 30's brochures at home... I'll have to go see if they mention Eagle and Mercury.
