Yep we have known each other for years ...he wasnt too worried about selling it at the time ,what did you think of it? If I dont make up my damn mind before he starts driving it for the season he will prolly just keep it .

Well you know Arron, he drives it every where. It is not bad but u would probably want to put your own finishing touches on it. At least if you and Arron did a deal it would still be in the family sort of speak. Just don't trade it back to Darcy...lol. And we both know Arron would do it justice and it would be on the road before long. He has away of thrashing on something until it is completed.

I'd go with the chevy then as well. The custom work done on it is nice and there would be no harm in changing any of it you decided or running the snot out of it as is!

I agree that the work on the Dodge would be more like a "restoration" of someboby else's ideas...and that gets to be a headache especially when you have the unwashed saying, "Why don't you just make it 'not ugly'?"

    Ha,ha,too funny Steve,

I'd actually be glad to see the old bomb back in the neighborhood so to speak. Roberts already promised not to change too much on it,lol! You're probably right about just restoring it too, never thought of it that way ,but I guess that's part of the reason I swapped ot for the Merc. Had mucho fun chopping and driving that car ,way more drivable than the Dodge had been that's for sure!

I think it is great! It may be uglier than a horses ass, but I just love it! Good luck with it and knowing your work, it'll be killer!

I love the old chevy's & have a 53 Club Coupe. But I've also been a long time Mopar fan and owned many of them. I like the Dodge. You will definately not see another like it.
How far is it from being able to just drive it?

    Good luck!

I would swap for the Chevy. And if i had the Dodge i would look for a donor car and replace the front end and rear fenders. I think it would look better as a mild custom, but it is your decision to make. Do what makes you happy, i also have a bad back and can understand trading it for the Chevy just to keep the back happy too.

I don't know the car, but judging from the background it looks like the interior of B.C. semi-arid. The coast is more like a rain forest.

Keep the Dodge, its got history

  20. Looking at the cars parked on the street, and the color quality of the photo (and the fact it is a photo), I'm guesing that's a "historical" photo of the car. Just my uneducated guess.

what up with this poll???? it only let me vote once! i figured i could just keep voting for the dodge and make up your mind for you.. that is a neat ol chevy, but the dodge is way cool ithink. i happen to love late 50s overkill. but pleas if you do keep it say away from the pin whites, thats the wrong era for that car. what james d suggested is absolutely on the money!! good luck...

I'm all for the Dare to be different but sometimes we have to ask ourselves can we do justice for the car. I've seen you metal work on here and it has always really blown me away. So I feel you could do the car justice. With that being said though I like the Chev just as much. Clean lines, pretty basic look and alot of functionality to it. So for what it is worth I'd keep the chev. But...... I sure do feel like the dodge is growin on me alittle.

allright people just joined, yes i did an intro.i'm coolkemps buddy that WANTS the old kustom.the way i look at it hes had it for 8 years and hasn't shown the love for it that i have lol.he likes to create his own kustoms ,as do I,but i've always wanted a crazy ass kustom with history. i have been chaseing this car for almost 24 years.either wasn't for sale or way to much money{darcy!} or it disapeared for years,we were meant to be togetheri don't plan to change it other than the dash and some subtle tail lights on the back for saftey reasons cause i plan to drive the wheels off it daily.WHEN.... i get it.i promise you this i will be cruisin before summer is over and i will show you guys my progress if you want.so go vote for the chevy and let the old man with the bad back do some relaxin and criusin this sumer thanks

I think it would be a good idea you would do the Dodge justice and Steve would be back on the road.
