Thanks El Brujo, as the flake was a deeper red, and didn't want to darken it any more; therefore I inter-coated after the candy stage. I also was just going for a lighter application of the flake... More of a added sparkle effect than the full on explosion (and coverage) of flake like some of these killer paint jobs on here. Just getting a feel for how this felt shooting and not going crazy on this stuff in case I messed it up (my daily driver and didn't want to lose another day or 2, as a CNC CPU issue cost me a day already on the trailing arm build, and i'm dying to see how this upgrade feels). I will be Flaking the roof later, and that will be more along the lines of how you mentioned. I'm going to play with some scrap materials for some more practice and will pick your brains again if I have any questions. You guys rock, thanks again! Also I will try the grounding trick next time as I had a few "stand up" flakes.

  11. Some novice work from myself. I've just finished up painting a friends fishing boat and decided to do something a little different under the two forward hatches. Should pop nicely out in the sun on open water.

@tomkelly.... what did you use to get the fogging around the edge of the panels? Is that airbrush work? Your buddy will be happy with the personal treatment. ...

  13. No, I don't own an air brush. I just set my mini spray gun pattern as small as it will go and am gentle on the trigger while I run around all the edges.
The dark edges are just candy black, I trace the gun around the edges a few times until I have the shade I want.

Looks like the late 60s through 70s psychedelic paint is coming back into fashion. Bring it on!

Silver Glowble and topped with Mirra.
This moped was built 1984/85 and was on Swedish "Hot rod Show 1985" in Skärholmen Stockholm. After the show it was put away in an attic for 30 years. Still in "show condition" after three decades!
The only new for 2015 is the air in tires..........
