I believe I have followed all the instructions but cannot seem to upload images to the H.A.M.B.! I use Firefox as my web browser. Can anyone tell me the correct way to get this done? Thanks. Tom

Here's a tutorial if you haven't found it already.

Are you trying to insert image links from an external image hosting account like Photobucket or Flikr, or are you trying to upload your image files from your computer to the HAMB's servers?

Are you working with JPEGs files? What size are the images? 800 x600 pixels, 1600 x 1200, full size directly from your camera or phone? Do you have a fairly fast internet connection?

I am trying to upload from my computer directly, photos that I took with my own camera. They are large JPEG images apparently. I went to properties and they apparently are 3800 by 5100 approximately and are 300 dpi by 300 dpi. I don't know if this answers the question. I did go to one tutorial and did as directed...watched the report of the upload...then got an error message...each time I tried. I will go to the tutorial you listed and see if it offers anything different. I have been working long on my project, my first, and am frustrated that I cannot subject myself and my work to friendly "criticism". Thanks for taking the time to respond! Tom

3800x1500 pixels is definitely larger than needed for display on the web. Depending on your computer, browser and service provider they can really bog things down or fail to load at all.

Most desktop monitors display at something like 1440x900 or 1600x1200 pixels. Usually an 800x600 pixel image is plenty big to display in a forum thread. Don't worry about DPI for web display... it only matters when you're trying to make prints.

If you do make prints, especially larger ones, take your larger original image files and make downsized copies, something around 800x600. If you're shooting just for web usage you can likely set your camera to shoot at a smaller size like 800x600 or 1600x1200. Just don't expect to make high quality prints from these smaller image files.

You'll be pleasantly surprised at how much faster the smaller images will upload. ;)
