For all you guys wondering what the "old days" were like...this was it.

  4. I know this feeling, it all seems crap at the time and can wear you down BUT once its all together, and you drive it for the first time, all the long days and fatigue just seems to fade away.

Your car is looking great, I can't wait to see it with the color on the body, it should look fantastic after all the prep thats gone into it.

Thanks guys, spent all day working on window gaps on the driver door. Tons of work to get it all clean looking. This by far has been the hardest part. I want it to look right when the window is down, not the dreaded fiberglass holes and edges. Getting the window glass tracks to work right is a real bitch. As soon as the doors are finished, I will put the roller back together for the last time and fire the 302 up!

  16. Morning HT, So you're gonna lay some paint today, I'm all giddy waiting to see what she's gonna look like, I do enjoy seeing this car coming together bro.

As Isaac said earlier, we all learn from each other and that's the cool part about being able to see pictures of what's going on with each others builds.

You are doing such an awesome job there buddy, just awesome.

Thanks Grits, your right about learning from other builds. I'm thankful for all the input and help from my friends. With only 72 day til billetproof, it doesn't look good for me. It needs to be done by the end of January to have time for the upholstery. I will give it my best shot and if I don't make it, I don't make it. Back to work......

Ya, the weather sucks! Got the shop closed up and heaters running. Just painting the bottom and odd parts with single stage. I'll get the humidity down before I throw paint. I'm running out of warm days, got to get the body painted soon!!!!!!! Pictures tonight if all goes well.

Aren't you the guy who hurt his hands? How are they doing?

Fantastic build; good choices throughout and great workmanship.

Thanks and yes my hands are screwed and hurt me every day but I still have them so I try not to cry about it, too much. The good Lord likes to put me to the test and keep me on my toes. As for the body getting some color, still working that last coat of primer. I find it very hard to believe that I can still find a pin holes here and there. The body is 99% done I just have to finish the doors. I have to fab all the levers and rods for the handles to work and that's the easy part. I can't tell you the amount of work it has taken me to get the window channels filled and straight. I want it to look right on the inside and around the edges when the glass is down. This is the worst part of a glass body. I have to fill and add wood as well as build tracks for the glass to ride on. I will finish the first door tomorrow and the second door will go faster now that I know what to do. The bottom of the body is all covered with paper and back on the rolling cart. Finished the trunk lid and bought the vanilla paint for the firewall today. I'm going to put some of that paint down the center of the axle and middle of the brake backing plates. It's all coming together now and hope to have the frame back together and rolling next week. Keeping what's left of my fingers crossed for good weather, hard to paint when it's cold.
