Guys, give poor Hot Turkey a break! The guy has been working his ass off day and night trying to get the car done. Maybe he's just tired.temporarily burnt out,or maybe he has a parts or financial burp come up? Or maybe even all three?

Who here amongst us hasn't had all three happen at one time or another?

Give the guy a week or so to rest and recover. Hell, maybe he's just catching up on his sleep?

Here is my 32 coupe project that I started on and stopped working on over 5 years ago. I started getting sick and having one surgery after another, and the next thing I knew I was too fat to get in the damn thing and my knees and back hurt too bad to kneel or bend over so I stopped working on it and started working on my 48 Plymouth coupe.

The good news is I have lost enough weight now I can get back in it again, and am in general doing a lot better physically than I was. I hope to get it on the road this spring.

  2. Glad to hear your health is improving/ed and you are back at your project Arthur!

Hot Turkeys' project is just so cool I get impatient (especially since he got a head start on the deuce before starting the thread making it seem quicker! Heh, heh).

My computer took a shit on me guys. I'm using my wifes lap top and it sucks! As for the coupe, I have been working hard to get it ready to fire up. There are so many small things to get fitted and believe me, nothing wants to go back together again with paint on it. I have pictures but cant load them yet. You guys are funny, I'm not slowing down, if anything I'm speeding up. Can't get the smile off my face......
I will be sure to get some pictures on when the computer is back from the shop.

Finished up all the plumbing, trans linkage and throttle linkage. Too many things to list at this point. I'm beat, going to bed.

As awesome as that car is, you're going to need a bigger guard dog.

  12. Is that a chrome Ford style alternator, or did you polish that too? Can you take a closer pic of it, I've been looking for one like that for my Merc.

I was peeking in the background of the pics and couldn't see the body, are you close to setting it on the frame now?

AWESOME rod!! I can see you are a very detail oriented person and want it done right, I can appreciate that. More importantly though, It is very nice to see you making memories with your daughter, I have been around hot rods and drag racing all my life. I will never forget all the memories i have when i was a child watching and helping my dad build cars and being a part of it with him. That is priceless and i am sure she will never forget these days. I am currently restoring an 1943 Farmall H tractor. I try to include my kids as much as possible in my project too. It will really mean alot to them in their adult years. Keep up the good work.

Congrats on the super nice rod you have!

OK, today was a good day. I call my friends (thank god for my friends!) and move the body to the frame.

With enough friends, you can move anything. We drug the frame to one side to make it easier to put the body on.

Your friends MUST be a bunch of wimps ...

There were only 4 of us on my 32 3W ... and it is steel ( so you know it is heavier ). :D

Your dedication and skill is very evident.

Keep up the good work and the progress reports.

Funny thing is I have found the opposite to be true, I've found more fiberglass bodies to be heavier than the steel ones. Not much but enough.
