Nice progress in the works there.
Looks pretty good from where I'm standing. Although I'm not that much impressed by how the engine looks like. I think the alum. painted parts look too much like plastic and toy-like. I think I would paint the airfilterhousing black, and the valvecovers and waterpump a tad darker and a little less glossy.
The spring-ends look sweet by the way! Keep up the good work!

Great Job, Great looking 32. Keep posting pictures, Thanks.
If anyone asks if it's real, tell "YES". Because it is 'real'. Real something.
    Good Luck.

If I can't find a steel plymouth coupe when I am ready to start my project I will probably go your route and buy a glass deuce. I don't get why people make such a big deal about it. I agree with everyone else that posted, as long as a guy is putting his blood, sweat, and tears into the project and making it his own, who the heck cares if it's "fake." I say screw'em.

Anyway, really impressed with your project. I'm looking forward to some more pics :D

What's important is that you are building it yourself instead of just signing checks for the work !

  12. Tremendous car.

    Well done.

So we'll just call it your Half Glass coupe?

Helluva lot of work, looks like more work than I see in a lot of steel cars.

    Commendable....

My buddy built a fiberglass car. When people asked "is it real?". He would say "yes, it is real, touch it"

The reason MOST folks bang on plastic cars is that they LOOK LIKE plastic cars ... :(

The firewalls look like poo and the glued in windshields just scream FIBERGLASS. I myself have no issues with a fiberglass car ... as long as it does not look like a 1-800 generic plastic car.

My coupe is 77 years old and came down Henry's factory line ... but I like what you are trying to do with yours. I would have to go ahead and fix the windshield ( like Skirv did :) ) ...

A friend of mine copied the canvas roof pattern on mine and made a fake cloth roof insert for his. It fools a lot of folks ... and really looks good IMHO.

Thanks for posting your photos ... we LOVE progress reports :D

  20. Great lookin build, keep us posted on progress. Were do you find the time to do all this ? Hope one day to see your 32 in person.

I expected to see a bunch of flaming on this thread. Im glad it didn't happen. Finally we are realizing that Glass bodies are here for the reason of hotrodding, not for being a real 32. The steel repops are outrageously priced along with the real deals.

I love what you have done Turkey. If I had the time or money I would definately PM with some more ?s. Looks great and drive the hell out of it!

Like your lil helper too, I hope my daughter will come with me some day. (shes 1)

I also couldn't afford a steel 32, and since the 32 3w. is my all time favorite rod I tried to build my Ravon glass car to more represent steel at 1/4 the cost. I made a hammer form and made a steel cowl vent and made it operate along with the windshield ,rear roll down window, and original style door hinges.

Im with you and after building an selling a glass 3 winder i think this thread is great... We need more open minded people here.. Steel aint gonna last forever and really its not a steel vs glass debate its more about talent and nice cars.. We have all seen the shit thats out here glass or steel what we need is the non shit cars glass or steel to be noticed for the good of all us rodders.. Oh ya before i build and sold my 32 3 winder i had a glass 34 and no not a streat beast either.. If i do another id really like another 33/34 for the room... 32's are kinda short on leg room.. You guys are building some neat shit.. keep up the good work.. Its the future..

Doug B you are one funny man. But I agree with ya. Come and knock me one too!!!

Fake boobs feel the same as real ones when my face is between them. Who cares as long as your car makes you happy and YOU DRIVE IT.

THIS is the reason most Tupperware cars DO look like crap... they look MODERN.

Some designs should never be fooled fooled with. They are classics... perfect as is. Putting a glued-in windshield and a smooth firewall in a Deuce is like sewing a Winkie on Rachel Welch...Sure you Can do it but you screw up the original design...
