Thanks Captain Obvious.......That's just typing words, I'm not referring to a person. Especially one as talented and inspirational as Jesse. Show a little f$$cken respect....
It's not that bad. Sand it down spray it flat black put some red steel rims on it find some hub caps and you will have a great looking ride. have fun with it!!!!
I understand this post as much as I understand people getting on Jerry Springer and telling the world you wife has been having *** with the six hundred pound gay guy next door that has a two inch **** ! Pat
Bill, it would help us all if you just told us whats wrong with it. It looks to be a pretty nice car.
as i stated before, the electrical system was poorly done, the clear actually just fell off the car, the floorboards where replaced with what appears to be a floor from another car and was rivited in. plus a bunch more things
im going to echo the advice to pack it up and bring it home. hopefully your friend on the west coast isn't charging you up the wazoo for labor already done. the peanut gallery act like their **** dont stink... amusing
Bill, you seem like a nice guy. If you get the car back here, and you're not too far from me, perhaps I could help you out. Don't sweat it, we'll get there.
sooo you spent over $50K on a car you had never seen in person....not to be a **** but why didn't you take an airplane ride to the west coast and have a look see before dropping a bunch of money you didn't have? Or even better how about having your friend with a rod shop go look at the car and buy him dinner??? Sorry but common sense just isn't so common anymore.
damn he is capitalizing every word, must be pissed it isnt a custom. im with mike its a good looking hot rod and being a converable makes it that more fun!!
that will turn his 50K into 5K in matter of seconds. hey while your at it paint "old skool rods"on it use some wire ties for the exhaust, stab a few holes in the top for good measure. ill be so glad when this "Rat Rod" **** is over with, its worse than disco. im going to take my Zanax now....................
Bill 1. Get it back to the east coast where you can see first hand whats going on with your car. 2. Have a plan of what you want to do with your car. 3.Do your homework to find out where and who should do the work on your car. Many guys on here would help you out if you're willing to learn and get your hands dirty. 4.Set a budget and a time line of completion. 5.enjoy it. We all buy stupid things and do it in a stupid way.Its called learning.Good luck,by the way where in NY are you?
I did the same thing but it wasn't $50K; it was $3K. I bought this 48 Dodge that needed "a little bodywork". The body was completely shot but it did have a decent frame and a good running engine. So I built the rat out of it. $50K must REALLY hurt, though.
Bill, consider it a lesson learned. A friend of mine years ago sold a nice 32 3window to buy a custom 40 chevy coupe, sectioned, chopped, many other body mods, great looking car that had won a Barris award and many other trophys. He just had to have it. Well when he got it home after the long trip to get it, the car was a poorly patched rust bucket, most of the floors were s**** steel or plywood with undercoat over them, and it wasnt long before the bondo started cracking here and there. This was a high dollar car that he just "***umed" was built right. I think you'll be okay when you get yours sorted.
i did something similar, i traded a 36 ford coupe that was set up up sorta pro street for a 47 ford coupe chopped custom without physically inspecting the car. and when it got here there were a few things that were just wrong with the car the biggest being the front clip was set up about an inch to far back and the tops of the doors dont conour with the chop very well, i figure i lost $10g's on the trade. So i feel for you buddy but you gotta get that car closer to you so you can handle the build.
Well it's water over the dam now, so you have to sort out what needs to be done, and get to it. Then when it's done to your taste, you won't feel so bad about it.
You didnt pay too much you just bought it a little early. (you own it) ---- you bought ALOT of car! a complete early ford that the top drops. a good year & it runs & drives! - west coast probably not a rust bucket either. park next to 1/2 a dozen 'perfect' fresh 39 deluxe coupes - your top drops you are the king of the row! (in any condition) GET DRIVIN IT!!!
X2. Give me a break. Most people wont spend $100 without a contract and inspection. I guess there is really a school of Hard Knocks isnt there????
thinkin about this. im wondering what ***clown looked at this car & knocked it down. you knew the color & interior before you bought it. wiring isnt that much. -- its moving in the picture so it must run & drive. I LIKE THE CAR! (what i see in the pic) i stopped for gas in a car i owned once. a guy came up & looked & looked it over like it was for sale. he started talkin to me & i had just bought the car it was kind of a roach. but it was cool. pretty rough aint it he says. i laughed & agreed. he brought up this & that wrong with the car i agreed & told him how it would be an easy fix. then he wanted to buy it. I said F-you too fukkin rough for you (in a jokin manner) then i said go inside & buy a wheeler dealer magazine there are lots nicer cars in there for sale. he was alllll over me he wanted that car. i had bought it just to resell but i wanted to play with it awhile. he got a price out of me AND HE WANTED IT! i owned it 2 days could of made $1,200.00 profit right there. FUKHIM i would have sold it for 500 less right in front of him. 'those negative' guys turn me right off! they drive JUNK or have a PPPPERFECT unfinished project that'll never be finished because they know NOTHING & it aint perfect enough! ive seen guys draggin their heads as some know it all **** told him he got stroked on whatever he bought. - piss on em. i vented too whooooops! just drive that 39! forget the dollar sign & look at it for what it is. if someone knocked it tell them to bring their car around so you can inspect it. you bought 'something' & its a valuable high dollar something not your average something.
