These two statements seem to be a little counter-intuitive. You want to install a new carb to make it not run good? o_O

I'd pour some seafoam in it to try to clean up the stems and guides.

Ah-HA! Well at least now we know what your motivation is. You actually might want to put some more miles on it and do a short oil change (or two) and see if the idle improves after you get some of the gunk flushed out of it. Have you got a good steady vacuum at idle?

That's the next test I'm going to do after I change the fluids.
After I replaced the broken pushrod it ran and idled very smoothly..now not so much

Check the pushrods again, maybe a sticking valve is bending them.

Throw some MMO in the crankcase and a pint in the gas tank.

I feel like the rear ****erfly its not opening, but the first one is and when the second one barely opens it revs really high in park or neutral...
I have to keep the rear barely cracked so it doesn't idle so rough...
Also when I pull the acc cable the p***enger side jet doesn't squirt as much as the driver side...
It's an old quadrajet that probably needs a rebuild but I'm probably going to replace it with a holley since that's what I have in my coe.

Got a new Edelbrock from Speedway!
It runs and idles real smooth...gotta figure out some wiring issues and onto driving it more often.

It's been running great with the edelbrock carb, took it to a car show last weekend about 26 miles from home and it made it to and back...a bit noisy and hot but it's a great intown van..

Its hard to understand why instead of repairing possibly the best street 4 barrel carb ever( qjet) you instead spent money on an edelbrock ( no comment) carb !?
