I'm using an f1 front axle and brakes on a 31 Ford sedan. I have new shoes, but am struggling to find the new hardware. Unless you enter a vehicle, you can't order anything just by size or what-not.
I remember a post with a list of where to find parts and another that talks about using 1980 rear Bronco brake components but none of my searches helped. Does anyone know of the post or at least if I can use the Bronco stuff?

    Thanks in advance!

  3. Here is info on the F series brakes; hopefully it will be helpful.

    Wheel cylinders WC9090 & WC9091
    Adjuster H1500
    *Retract springs NAPA UP80304
    *Adjuster springs NAPA UP80503
    *Hold downs H4020HD
*(I listed separate parts because if you order a hardware kit, it will not have enough or the right kind of springs as the current kits are set-up for self-adjusting brakes).
    Link pins H1414-2
    Shoe retainer Help 13896

These parts fit both '48-'52 F-1 & '53-'56 F-100 backing plates (which are exactly the same).

If you have F-1 hubs ask for '80 Bronco REAR drums (don't tell the counterperson what or why; that will just confuse the issue). Best deal is usually Raybestos 2677R drums from RockAuto.

If you have F-100 hubs ask for '53-'62 F-100 front drums nothing confusing. Same deal Raybestos 2600R drums.

If you don't know what you have measure from the back of the flange to big end.
There can be a small variation as there were several versions of the hubs.

  7. You can always do a google search, as long as you enter what you want and the words the hamb you will get an overview of any thread that is remotely pertinent and when it was started.

Yeah for some reason anytime I do a search on this site I can’t find what I’m looking for. I find tons of neat stuff close to what I’m searching for but Google gets me around the site better:rolleyes:
