I am building a 1937 GMC, semi traditional, lake style, fenderless, whatever. I am running the hood and the hood sides. It started as a 2 ton truck I believe. I inherited the build in a bunch of parts. I chopped off the front frame horns and put a 6 inch drop axle 18" forward of the original location. I set up the cowl steering with a Mopar steering box from Flaming River. It has lake style headers with mufflers and dumps on the ends. Problem is, I am left w/o room for a hanging pedal. I had bought a dual reservoir Wilwood with balancing bar setup. I seem to be confined to under floor mounted ***emblies. I am currently thinking of buying an under floor booster bracket kit and fabricating the face to accept the Wilwood cylinders. What would be the best set up for my truck. The 28-31 Ford and the 32 Ford car setups seem to be close but I cant find a site with any measurements. I am running buick finned drums with 48 Ford backing plates and the back is drums that were already on the Halibrand quick change when I bought it. Any direction would be appreciated.
Almost a solution found, CPP offers a under cab kit for this truck. It is set up for a booster, and I will have to cut of the booster mount and fabricate one for the two Wilwood reservoirs. Now the problem is I cant use the same balancing bar set up. Will a heim/ rodend work the same way? And if not does anyone have any advice on how to set this up so I will have good braking in front and back?
