No thank you. My mother always told me not to ride with strange people.

Denny, here's how it goes. One of our own dearly missed, if I'm not mistaken.

Yes, both boys in their early 50s -- Heretic Early-Onset Altziemer's (sp?) disease called the Jalisco Syndrome. Very long and slow and tragic.

I’m so sorry for your loss, I lost a daughter so I have some idea. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your wife.
    Sincerely,

This is a friend of mine's cannon sending part of one of my boating mentors Capt Jim Ray's ashes out over the water at Point Hudson Marina in Port Townsend Wa in 2008. His ashes or at least part of them were placed in 13 black powder canons and sent out over the water at High Noon.

Locally the native Americans have a number of private cemeteries including one a mile from me.

Having lost an elderly Uncle and FIL to Alzheimer's I witnessed the pain of this terrible disease but there is no way I could fathom the pain you endured.

Can't imagine they would have let the car be buried too with gas, oil, battery and antifreeze still in it. Besides as the roof rust away and slowly falls in and the interior fills with dirt I bet they will have to keep adding dirt and gravel to the grave site.

Guns worth too much to bury, besides my kids have already figured out which ones they get... and that list just keeps growing !!....

They drained all the fluids. I don't know what else. His guns, his wishes.

A couple of years ago I went to Warwick dragway in Queensland for the Six Banger Nats. Unfortunately the bloke who was the driving force behind the event was tragically killed in an industrial accident just prior to the event. The event went on but his ashes were spread on the start line and his son did a burnout in his father's blown six cylinder altered across the start line. The rest of us were invited to do the same. Sounds weird but that's what he wanted.

This whole thing gives me the freaking creeps.
So far I have seen great examples of selfishness.
    I see lack of dignity.
Other examples approach paganism. Who do you think you are? King Tut?
Despite all the cannon shots, being swept up in a dust pan at the race track or worse being breathed by onlookers and finally being buried in a Pontiac with your 30-06.....
You are still not taking it with you.

  14. Truth.
King Tut ain’t playing with any of the toys buried with him

That's not really any different than the old guys sitting on a bunch of cars that they "will get to one day" and then die and it all goes to the crusher. You're just sending it to a slow crusher. Now let's start a post about how we don't see enough old cars driving around and young people aren't getting into the hobby. :)

Sam ting only different. Localish collector passed a year or so ago.
Story goes he had it all set up to be frozen upon death.
At his viewing his remains were persuaded to be in a sit up position IN his C2 Vette.
Dont know if he was buried in it, but it did happen.
I got a pic. But wont post.

Nothing creepy about spreading ashes has been done for a long time, just ashes- dust to dust…as far as being buried in your car well if that’s the deceased wishes who cares. If someone gave you their Hot Rod upon death but stated only to be driven on Sundays in sunny weather would you oblige that person. Of course you would.
Personally I would give the car to someone so they could enjoy, but that’s me. Reminds me of the Movie Gran Torino- great movie.

  18. I'm going to build it one day.....proceeds to die and all it gets junked but the relatives that don't care for any of it. They just want the cash.

I'm already thinking of what friends to give my cars to.

    or just do this
    [IMG]

even if you bury it, at some point its just junk in the earth.

  19. Not about the car. The attachment to it.
That seems unhealthy for the living.
If you “give”me a car to drive on Sunday I’ll be straight up with ya and telll ya no. It’s mine and gets driven whenever.
It’s not a gift with strings attached.

You are a stand up guy Anthony, my point being that you would make that statement up front, not “sure I’ll only drive on Sunday” and then do as you please. Many things are gifted by deceased have strings attached ie: parks, museum quality items including cars etc. etc. I would be honored to be gifted something someone thought I could do right by, if I could I would, if not I would say so.

I’ve always wanted one, however I am not quite ready for that final road trip but when the time comes
    “We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we’re wearing sunglasses” “ I’m-set”, I just I hope I don’t a throw rod before I get there “
“ I’m thinking it’s farther than 106 miles. hit it”

And a certain influential segment of the population is actively trying to make that happen, but we can't discuss it here.
