Canuck Build #2 47 Aerosedan **BIG PICS**

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Flatland47, Aug 21, 2005.

  1. Kruzer63 threatened to jersey me if I didn't post pictures of my build...

Judging by what I see on the HAMB everyday i'm not so sure this is exactly what most of you guys are into but here goes nothing

Be gentle its my first build

Started with my 1947 Chevy Aersedan, I picked it up for a modest $600, "mostly" straight panels and front steer Nova clip and rear end already installed.
It came with a slew of 16 gauge sheet and spare "rust free" fenders. and a few random boxes of parts that I have dug through finding most of the needed interior hardware.

It has a great profile.... Love the fleetlines

Before I got it moved into the club garage, I swapped the front fenders in the driveway
    [IMG]

Did the little bit of floor rust repair
    [IMG]

Got it cleaned up and ready for the swiss cheese firewall repair..

  2. After the 4bolt 350/350 and 16 gauge firewall... I'm trying to use as much as I can from the donor Impala... hence the booster and M/C
    [IMG]

Here I created the steering column and brake pedal brace and also mocked in my FREE sundance seats. I love free

I just ordered the air kit from www.easystreetair.com I am using thier Autopilot system. So in preparation and to check the clearance, we removed a few leaf springs.. I have another 1.5" to go down after we "massage" the diff/trunk problem.

And just cause I manage a Automotive Accy store... I brought a set of 20x8 to see how they fit... and they are a bit big up front so it looks like 18" are the winner..

Ya know, everything was going along just great untill you tested those wheels.:D Good luck with the build, keep us updated on those chalk lines.

  4. Ha ha! well I'm still undecided on wheels, and will rock the red steelies and chrome caps until i find something that fits.. As for the chalk... they were on teh car when I got it... I'm not planning a chop anytime soon though...

Seems like everyone but me has a fastback, I'm stuck with a big, dumb two door sedan. I'm doing a similar car right now so yes, I'm very interested in seeing the progress. And if you're not planning to use those fender stainless pieces, feel free to mail them to me!

I also like how your replacement fenders had some Buick style portholes on them at one time. Still got those?

The lines are the car are really smooth and flowly. Once you get the air ride installed, It's going to look really nice when it laid out. Minus the 18's of course...:p

Kool you guys are hard to the core no shirts and sandles rock on!!!
yeah i agree with the wheel thing too dont do it!
of course it is your car though

  9. No they were removed before I got the car... I am owever not using any of the chrome... If you happen to have access to the brackets that mount the rear of the front fenders I'm quite interested in swapping parts....

Thanks for the props gents... But the car will eventually have large wheels, just not for some time as the Air ate up the mod money for awhile.

And well its gets hot and humid as hell in the shop so you have to stay cool :p However dale is topless to check clearance on the diffy... he has long ass arms and didn't want to get his shirt dirty ;) :p

  10. is that front end stock?

Ill be completely honest with you. Those wheels look like shit, it will ruin the car. If your gonna go with billet, hit up billetspecialties or weld.. I have a 47 chevy coupe, that has weld wheels and it looks right on... some of them accually dont look that bad if your into that...

But those ricer wheels gotta go...

    looks good, good progress

    Hey Man,

Good to finally see some pics of this creation of yours instead of only hearing about it. What is the clip out of in it? Good to see some more new iron being built around here by younger guys.

  12. Simmer down man, they were just used as a SIZE reference.... :p

  14. DAMN! Any more pics of that? What are you using for a rear suspension? I can only assume a bagged 4 link and some slight trunk floor pan reconstruction as well

No, actually its a 3rd generation camaro rear end, its a two link with a torque arm up to the trans. El Polacko setup the torque arm. Would you believe this car is not c-notched or bridged, and beside the driveshaft tunnel it still has a stock floor in the back.

look on my site for pics

looks cool man- I agree the wheels are a bit well off-lol, and the booster, m/c looks a bit bulky. But thats my 2 cents... and it isn't worth any more. I do applaud you on the whole budget build-gonna try that with my 61 Comet...Try being the key...haha
