'36 Plymouth wheels, I have a set for my '40 Chrysler. They take a cap with the inner ring that's held on by clips on the wheels. I have some old ****py '36 Plymouth hubcaps which I plan to cut the center ring out of and weld it into the back side of my '40 Chrysler hubcaps so the Chrysler caps will fit.

I can take measurements if you want, you could cross-check them against other 40's era clip-on hubcaps, but I don't think there are any aftermarket caps (from the period or now) that fit these wheels. I would think you could make "shannon cones" or any of the other center caps they sell for smoothie wheels fit on here, but you'd have to cut the ring off the back side of them and weld a ring from a Plymouth cap or similar to the back side to make it work with the clips.

Even the original '36 Plymouth caps are hard to find in good condition.

  3. Squablow, thanks for the input,I will try to score some plymouth caps as you
mentioned,I knew how they were retained but had no idea what they were
off.As you say I could be lucky to find some caps to modify but you can only try aye?
    Thanks again for your help:cool:
