Car 3XL build thread

figured i should start myself a build thread, seeing as how i have actually done something more than scrounge parts recently...

cut the springs for the quarter elipticals on the front today, and also fab'd and tac'd in one side of the mounts for the springs... not MUCH progress, but its getting there. waiting on some front end parts from Eric (Vaphead) and then i need to have cowboy bob and 2b banjo weld and re-mill a set of wheels and it should be a roller

You have some parts welded together.

 

real quick update to finish off the spring mounts... got them both tac'd on and the springs loose bolted on to check the wheelbase... **** its gonna be a long one... around 120" give or take one!

nuther update... got a pair of t-bolts today from posies, drilled the axle and tac'd in the bosses for the quarter eliptic springs. looks pretty decent, and once i finish weld, these mounts are gonna be STRONG.

 

Looking for updates on these cars. What about it??
Is it going to ready for the HAMB drags??

two weeks ago, i'd have said absolutely... now that the buick mill in the willys decided it wants to be difficult, i cant say for sure if it'll run at the drags, but it'll be there!

 

Don't stop drillin' there, That axle needs more holes.
