This one drives me crazy, it seems to be on every craigslist ad I see, usually to describe a rusted out junker that they're asking way too much for.

Another one that I see alot is "complete car" and you read on and it says "no engine/trans" wtf?

  3. Not a saying but on ebay they will show a pic of a perfectly restored car. when you click the add it says " this is what it could look like when finished" and what their selling is a striped shell.

"Drive it home", been sitting for years.

I looked at one last week that said " $1200, but will take much less " in the ad.

Not a car ad but one that qualifies...a current ad for Bayer aspirin, old dude who just had a heart attack:
"I am in absolute perfect physical condition"

  21. Here's the one that pisses me off to such a degree that I won't even bother looking at the item for sale: "In great condition for it's age". Now just WTF does that mean?

my favorite is " not in a hurry to sell". That on really gets to me, why would u put it for sale if u dont want to sell it. I sometimes call and give them shit about talking to their wife about buying their car. I once told a guy that i would take his wife flowers and half his redicoulous asking price to buy the car. He hung up on me and removed the for sale posting.

Everything is a "barn find" now. Or, they like to say, "a similar car sold at barrett auction for $200,000." Meanily the car they have is hacked and been sitting in the woods stripped down for 20 years.

Not a big fan of "testing the waters".... or "don't NEED to sell."

Although you never know when someone might be looking for EXACTLY what you have for sale.... in which I can see the point of these types of ads.

From the other side.. buyer asks "What condition is it in 1-10" I reply for a 25 year old car it's a 10!!! (for a 5 year old car though it would be a 2)

My fave sell line "Just needs a battery" or "Just needs brakes bled" when the *&^% does a car need thr brakes bled if it's just been sitting? and how LONG has it been sitting for all the fluid to "evaporate" to the point it has air in the lines?
