What a great day for a car show...so I cruised up to a cool little gathering in Pasadena yesterday. Granted it was no Lone Star Round Up, but I will take what I can get. Combination art show at Johnson Motors Inc that featured 3 Japanese artists (Makoto, Mr. G. and Psycho), and another mostly auto related show at the Mendenhal Sobiesky Gallery (Weesner, John Bell, Coop, Roth, Shag, Spain, Pizz and a few others). A couple guys from Zero Choppers were there...with bikes. Some of the Choppers (Verne, Sandy and Fish) were hangin' out. The Immortals. The cars and bikes were parked in an alley, which made picture taking a bit difficult with all the peeps walking around. I'll post pics in 3 phases as work permits. Cars, then bikes, then a bit of art.

    Enjoy.

It was a good show. I got there really early to get a spot but no go! I had my '53 Plymouth wagon parked around the corner on green street at the Optical place. I was impressed with the cars and bikes that showed up. Shawn put on a kool gathering from Johnson! I liked Auggie's '35 all metal truck that he had there with the tangerine-orange painted steelies. He also had his '54 Merc and his bike, Harley, with the BSA tank on it with the others that you took pics of. I wish I could have met more there but, I had to get my ass off to work! One more thing. Ya can't forget about the couple of hotties that where there too. I got a stiffie with my burger and fries to go! KNUX

Weesner had the program for the show at the Roundup.

I noticed that the cover painting of an intake manifold by Coop had more than a passing resemblance to one painted by our friend Dan Picasso.

I was there yesterday. Johnsons book store is one of my favorite places to pass the time in Pasadena.

The gallery showing was very cool. Who was the artist that had his stuff painted on the wooden tablets. They were on the small wall directly to the left as soon as you walked through the door. I really liked his stuff and would like to see more.

Goozgaz. I think the artist you are referring to is John Bell. He was there. Really nice guy, and extremely talented. He'll be at Paso I think, and I usually run into hime at the hot rod reunion as a couple other shows. I believe his site is http://www.johnbellstudio.com/
