If you are even in Texas, cross over to jaurez and hide it in your airfilter.
I remember reading that robert williams, the artist, has a pretty big collection as well as WWI german helmets.
I got one from TJ for about $20 a few years ago and it doesn't stay closed anymore. But I dont carry it around anyways. Its not worth getting busted over here in CA. You can collect them but not carry them. I got a knuckles and a butterfly there too. (Matt Dillon had one in Outsiders)

    Hey Tingler,

I've got a few. I see them in the local antique stores form time to time. I also ordered some from italy a few years ago. The ones that I got looked just like my old ones and were pretty nice. The white one in the photo below is new.

  5. Bugman, these guys used to have the comb version. They have so much weird stuff I will let you look to see if they still have em.

  6. Nice Flylock you got there.

  7. actually, Tingler, if you wanna be really bad-assed carry a straight razor. Slim, easy to open, legal, and best of all impressive as hell. Nothing glints like the blade on a straight razor. Pearl handles look cool too.

Thanks safariknut. That's a helluva collection you've got! I found these locally at auctions and junk stores. I bought the one with white handles so I would have one to play with and not wear out the old ones.:D

good point...i'd be more scared of a guy pulled a straight razor on me than a switchblade or other knife. might be because i've had too many knives pulled on me and i know how to use/defend against one.

still, the thought of one of these glinting in the moonlight in a dark alley scares the shit outta me!

A straight razor is more likely to damage the attacker than the attackie!
Maybe a psychological thing. Id rather face someone with a floppy razor than any real knife.

I have a knife I got years ago, my brother and I called it an 'angel' blade.
THe blade slides out of the handle instead of flipping out like a switch blade.
I press a small release at the top and the blade slides out and locks.

I've never seen another like it and I love it...kept it hidden from my parents for years...now I'm pretty sure where it is...it's cool...

dammit...now I have to go look for it

When I lived in Seattle, I looked forward to the occasional "Archie McPhee" lunch we'd get together and take. My favorite part of the store is the far right corner. All kinds of doo-dads what-have-yous. They have some cool mechanics coveralls there too!

As I said, carried one and used it many times while serving. Thank you Capt. William Ewart Fairbairn and Capt. Eric Anthony Sykes!!

when I was a kid, switchblades, firecrackers and bullwhips were the ultimate score when we'd go to TJ. Most of the time my mom would wind up busting me no matter how hard I tried to conceal them. I got a pretty nifty Kershaw at OSH that releases the blade pretty damn quick.

Switchblades are legal to own and not carry. It becomes a federal case if you transport one across a state line from what I am told.
I bought one at a yard sale years ago in a box with a bunch of knives. when I got home I found the switchblade(looks like an old Barlow)but was made by Schrade. I contacted the company about installing new handles as the old ones were missing. They told me they built these knives back in the early 1900's and they sold for $1.25-$1.50. They also told me to find someone around here to install the handles as it was illegal to ship them across state lines.:D

Never knew anyone fast and accurate enough to shoot a snake at their feet with a hand gun.
I know two guys that shot themselves in the foot though, one of them did it with a 12 guage, that was real messy.

  20. You have never spent time out here. Hell, I rode over one on my mountainbike last night they are so common.

Got one of these without the handle setting in the drawer at work. Been meaning to bring it home and do some work to make it easier to hold without the handle . I use one on a regular basis since I am a Barber.

I ask all the officers that come thru the barber shop about switchblades and butterfly-knives, oh and slap jacks (<-- one my favorites) and from what they say it's not illegal to own any of the above items its just illegal to carry them and a felony if you use one even if it is self defense, unless it's in your own home.

You'll find more than you could want here...http://www.southord.com/

They have all kinds of stuff that some states deem illegal. Straight razors for fighting, saps, leaded gloves, lock pick sets...

  24. Like somewhat said up above. The best place is the flea market. Things might be named something else though. For instance. Brass nuckles will be called paper weights.

I really don't know why you'd want to carry a knife....a pistol's a lot nicer, and you don't have to get close to the bad guy...to send him/her to meet Jesus....

here in MI carrying a pistol's now legal..my old 1945 Remington-Rand 1911A1 protects me and my family...it can put it's 7 shots on a paper plate at 100 yards. I know, with a good lot of WRA 1951 GI hardball ammo..

Garysguns is right...they'll hang you in MI for carrying a switchblade knife....your CCW permit won't cover a switchblade knife....

but a kin of mine, when he was in the Airforce had a permit to carry a switchblade so you could cut yourself out of a parachute....he was stationed in the carolinas someplace...

(I thought this forum was about old cars...not hoodlums....)

In New York state it's legal to carry a switch blade if you have one arm!
