Good luck Roach. I hope you get paid or the car back. It would be nice to have someone who made a mistake on a deal like this, who trusted someone they shouldn't, end up on the positive side.

I have been in your situation and probably will get in it again before I die. There are always gonna be some crooked mofos who will always get one over on someone who still believes that a handshake and a mans word mean something.

If you see him again, shoot the m(edited for a family forum)r. That way he won't do it to anyone else.

    the end.

I know, at the very least the ownership to this guy is now invalid, and it's also forgery which is pretty serious. to the OP, file a police report and see if they will let you sign an affidavit that you never transferred ownership

you have to be careful of calling it in stolen. check your state laws. Here in OK if you let someone borrow a car just one time and a week later they take off in it you cant call it in stolen. Its unauthorized use.
My friend who owns a tote the note car lot a guy ran off owing $2500. by the time it was said and done he wound up having to let the guy have the truck and attorney fees and such cost him $4K additional.
Post pics of it on local CL list there.

You never hand over a ***le without full payment. On every ***le in this state you see two lines. Registered owner and the one below it is "legal owner"
Legal owner is the person or bank that owns the car and has the right to repossess it while registered owner is the guy who drives it and makes payments to the legal owner.

It's either track him down and convince him to pay up one way or the other or see if you can haul his *** into court for forging the name on the ***le.
But in this state possession and having the ***le is usually considered proof of ownership. Looks like you just got 1000.00 worth of education.

  13. I recently bought a car ***led in WA. with collector car plates which I believe are what you are calling perm plates the transaction was done with a notary public ,in the paper work was a copy of the ID the notary used to identify the the ***le holder. If understand you correctly some impersonated you and forged your name on the ***le.I am pretty sure this is a felony.I think you need to find the person impersonated you at the motor vehicle office . Once you find him and make him aware of the laws he broke helping his bro he will most likely help you in getting your money.PM if you need info on how to track this guy.
