I've got "The Car" on DVD also. It's so cheesy that you have to watch it, even when you have better stuff to do. LOL.

Probably my fav. Thunder road. If I'd have been around Niles Penland wouldn't have gotten Robert's 39 Coupe.
Fav. racing movies, Big Wheel/ Mickey Rooney. To Please a lady/ Clark Gable. Thunder in carolina/ Rory Calhoun, & The Skipper,Alan Hale.
Fav. MC movie. Little Foss, & Big Halsey/ Michael J. Pollard/Robert Redford. One of the all time great movie lines, as Halsey tries to screw Little over once agin. Halsey "But man we're friends" Little, "I dont even fucking like you"

One of my favorites. That black lincoln was just plain evil looking.I thought they did a good job filming it for the time .By todays standards maybe not but I thought it was cool.Maybe I just liked it cause some people say I have a real evil streak in me:D

Actually that was a Ford Falcon. The Monaro was the "Stolen Pursuit Special" at the beginning of the movie. And the follow on Road Warrior for car movies!.

I'm sure this has been done to death, but what the hell, while we're here, you did say car movies, not just hot rod movies.

The two best racing movies ever made.
    Grand Prix
    Le Mans

    How 'bout some Elvis.
    Viva Las Vegas (Ann Margaret...Yum)
Spinout (Elvis races a 427 Cobra and tows it with an Duesenberg, Shelly Fabares drives a Ferrari 250 California)

Did someone say Bullitt yet? How about Faster Pussycat Kill Kill? Bad ass babes with big bazooms tearing around in a Porsche, an MGA and a TR3.

An now for something completely different. Genevieve, a British film from the early '50s about two guys with antique cars (a Darraq and a Spyker) who enter the London to Brighton Run and turn it into a personal race. This movie was very popular in the UK and is credited with helping popularize the antique car hobby there after the war.

And while we are talking foreign, A Man and a Woman. Lemans and Tour d'France footage.

    Some vintage American stuff.
    The Big Wheel
    To Please a Lady
    The Crowd Roars

    Cheers,
    Kurt

  19. Dont forget the LIVELY SET with pamela tiffen..later she did a "spread" in playboy..........KING OF THE MOUNTIAN .........a great streetrace movie about mulholland drive...........

MotorRama was pretty crazy. A kid runs away from his abusive parents by building some extensions for his legs to reach the pedals of the family car. He goes across country playing the game Motorama

Two Lane Blacktop , I watched that movie about 50 times now. At first, I just fastforwarded to the 55 scenes, but now it appears I have an aquired taste for the entire feature. Brilliant camera work, and Warren Oates plays one hell of a character.

Avoid Deadline Auto Theft unless you just Enjoy retitled movies. It was Gone in 60 seconds basically retitled with a little extra thrown in.

  25. With that raggity Valiant that can't outrun the evil semi...I love that movie.

How about Hell on Wheels with...I think his name is Marty Robbins...

  26. I am very dissappointed in you. Those movies are such crap, in the Tokyo movie, the character car had a Jap motor put in it, but for the stunts, the real motor was the American motor, according to an article I read. I think it was a Mustang?

  27. I'm sorry, I was going for a laugh and it is rather hard to express sarcasm through a keyboard. I have watched the first two ricer movies but not the third. I can't stand to think of them ruining a Rustang with a ricer engine. The article in whatever magazine it was in said the car was slower with the import motor. The ricer movies are just the most hyped "car" movies out there recently.

I rented this at the video store a few years back. Was I pissed off when I got home and found it was Gone in 60 Seconds with a few extra scenes here and there. It said on the box "from the maker of The Junkman and Gone in 60 Seconds", both of which I had at home already.
