alright, so i'm filling out my application for the GSTA show in april; but i need to provide a display for the sedan. ***us says some rope stanchions and a sign listing some specs should suffice.
i'm new to this whole car-show thing (never had a car nice enough), so what i'm looking for are some simple examples of a basic sign. all i can think of, off the top of my head, are the hand-painted plexy signs i've seen in the past. these seem be the coolest. it ain't a flashy car, so i'm not looking for something that's too over-the-top.
maybe some pics of your signs, or one's you've seen and like? any previous threads that already covered this? i've searched, but maybe i'm looking in the wrong places.

even better yet, any hambers that make 'em? i'd rather pay up than slop together some half-***ed menagerie of my own.
also any line on picking up some of them rope dealies, too.
    any suggestions? -marx

Important to have the sign lettering big enough to read from at least five feet away for the outside the ropes folks.

as far as the ropes go, i'm just thinkin' like the simple bar-stock corner braces; about a foot tall or so. know what i mean? kinda triangular free-standing deals.....
i suppose i could just bend up my own, now that i'm sayin' it out loud...anybody made these up before?

I'm not sure if it would fit your "theme" but,
We used old aluminum connecting rods and welded them together. Tri pod three then stack end to end till you get them as high as you want. Heck we have 55 gallon drums full of junk rods. I bet I could get you a bunch on the cheap.

Four connecting rods, a piece of 1/2" pipe 17" long and a piece of 3/8" rod all welded like this:

Sign plotted from a CAD program placed in a $9.00 Wal Mart 20" wide X 30" high frame.

I could plot your info if you like and mail it in a tube, no charge for a fellow HAMBer! Just e-mail me your info to ecsllc@bright.net if your interested. I can do it in other colors.

  13. if you do not want to come up with your own rope and stanchions , the GSTA will provide them for you...nothing fancy , but free to use

whatever you use , make sure you duct tape them down to the floor

I don't have a "Ready " photograph here bur , I could get one to ya in a couple of days . I showed my 53 Ford Panel off one time with oil company road maps , hundreds of them placed cover to cover to make like a tile floor along side the truck. Folks really liked it ................. scrubba
