At 76, I am pretty much showed out myself. For me, a car show has just become a good destination - an excuse for a road trip. I enjoy the drive, generally do one walk thru the show, chat with any friends I run into, and I'm gone. Kinduva loner - always have been. "Does not play well with others."

Well two shows reemerged here this July that I attended. I'm 82 as some know, and have the two shots as suggested. I didn't think a mask was needed as it was of course outside.
I have looked forward to at last getting my 34 in at Puyallup, at last and it was just okay, not great for me. It was a great show, don't get me wrong, but for me it is to much walking and it was very warm. I am calling going to that one a thing in my past. However the other was a fundraiser by the Lyons club for kids, local and of course much smaller than GG's. That one I will do again, (the good Lord willing).
I don't attend any others and with the GG's out of my vision, I'll not be attending any others, not because of the Covid but because this old body has to many miles on it now and is worn out.

Bring on the shows, I'll attend!
I had a goodbye party for one of my golf buddies Friday. He stayed indoors all year last year afraid of contracting some illness. Covid didn't kill him, pancreatic cancer did that while he sheltered a final year of his life away.

Go have fun! I'll see you at the show!

I kinda swore off car shows when I retired because most of them want you to pay to show your car off....Rather spend my cash on parts than show registration...So the Pandemic never really upset my plans...

  7. When ya drive old crap every day, every day is a car show.
Looking back, canceling stuff was a placebo at best. Especially outdoor events.
I don’t mind paying for good shows, especially the fund raising/charity events. Or shows without cutoff dates. I like a lot of variety, even the foreign stuff.

    vaccination? Now ya introduce politics

I have been to a couple or more around this area already and plan on going to at least one more in a week. But there never are as many good ones around here as there are in other areas of the country. Most of the shows around here seem to be open to all kind of uninteresting stuff like late models and even rice burners. So I pretty much only hit 3 or 4 all year. Now I only go to shows with a swap meet as I don't care to pay twenty bucks to park my car so someone else can look at it, I am on fixed income and that gets expensive.

My friend from Jasper said the same thing a few years back!

I'm pretty much the same myself, I've gotten to the point if I have to pay, I ain't going. I've been to some that let you in without paying, you just weren't eligible for any drawings, that was fine with me. But some of them got smart and started collecting money as you go in. Might get me one time doing that, but not again.

Let's all do what it will take to get us back there..politics be damned.

Well... one of the bigger fails as far as my features go... Not only did I screw up the edit, but I opened up the doors for people to think I (or anyone else on the internet for that matter) cared about their political beliefs and conspiracy theories.

I deleted as much as I could, but I think I'm done... gonna close this.

I can and will do better fellas. My apologies.
