People who ***** about paying to attend a show have usually never been involved with puting one on. Well stated Duece Phaeton.

  4. Cool car! Glad we don't have to worry about all that drama when we go to a show.

Looking forward to meeting a few of you on Saturday. And taking a look at few of the Michigan cars that are getting everyone attention.
I'm planning on visiting the show after the Fowlerville swap meet.

    see you there 416ford.

I am really looking forward to the show. This kind of show is rare in this area, sure there is Detroit Cobo Hall, but this is different. Local guys putting on a first cl*** show.

  7. I love the cars that you can just drive them and not worry about how clean they are or dump money into the show cost!

You might take a look at some of the cars in the show. My Deuce Sedan has been on an 8600 mile cross country drive with the previous owner and his wife. The flathead powered '34 went cross country 7 years ago and picked up th long distance award at GGs Puyallup. He said it hadn't been washed, other than rain, in 7 years. Most all of these cars are driven. Ya we have some show cars. Ya we have some tiquers. And ya we have some late model cars that only interest a select few. Thats what makes the world go around.
For the people that attend and spend some time talking with other it'll be a weekend worth while.

Hey, maybe Kim would like a photo of one of these girls sprawled all over the '36 for her Birthday (it's today)! Yeah, that's it!

All kidding aside, and no more derrogatory comments about PT Cruisers (which, apparantly, some HOT ROD readers DO think my car looks like )
If you're in Mid Michigan, come up and support the guys working hard to make this show happen. Proceeds to charity, hot rodding history, yada yada yada...

Great way to end the day. Glad you got it fixed and drivable.
Is the rear radiator just a secondary cooling?

Yeah, we got it going on the front rad. only, after I realized it was the radiator, not just the hose (which had a cut in it), that was leaking. Don't know if I hit something which got kicked up and struck the hose, then the rad., or if the two things happened simultaneously at the pot hole. The suspension did bottom out.

The upshot is that obviously, radiators don't make very good bump stops! Hopefully, all the coolant got sloshed out of the lines to the rear radiator on the 2 block drive back to the Lansing center and it's not dripping coolant on the floor.

Huge props to Brian and John for hanging out untill we got the greasy fingerprints wiped off, all the antifreeze mopped up, and offered to stage the car for me today. If we'd been 5 minutes later, and they'd been gone, we'd have simply headed back home, 70 miles, stopping every half hour or so to let the car cool down enough to continue, and called the weekend a wash. Thanks guys!

Good news, bad news. The car is coming home on a trailer, as a phone converstion with John today (who totally set the car up for me, as I was at work!) reveals the car is still dripping coolant. :( He put a drip pan under it. I have friends who DO have car trailers, and will borrow one to get the car home on Sunday after the show. What's good about trailering a hot rod? If you tow it behind another one, it's generally considered acceptable. :p

I fully understand the phrase "**** happens" but in all of my 65 years no one has a reasonable explaination of why it ALWAYS happens at the most unopportune times. Anyone want to venture a guess?
