Some neat facts there Bill. I knew most of the stuff on the 56 & 57's but not a lot on the earlier cars. Only 4 black cars in 54 !!! wow. I know a guy who has a 55 w/ the harvest gold ext. and green int. Yikes. It's really yellow not gold.

 

Bill, You have done it again !!! I have always loved those Early Vettes but always had trouble driving one because I am 6'6". Cousin had a 57 and it could even get uncomfortable as a p***enger. Thanks, Jeff

 

Thanks for the kind words. I messed around with including color charts but it didn't work out.

 

I have the same problem. I'm 6'4" and it wasn't too bad when I was young and wiry, but now that I am getting older and fatter it doesn't really work anymore. Feels like I am riding on the car, not in it.

 

Nice info. I worked for a guy in Colorado who had an unrestored black 54. Didn't realize it was that unusual.

That happens to me a lot. Many cars I saw as a tot, I didn't find out until later how rare or special they were. Wish I had taken photos.

 

Just revised and expanded a bit. There were some gaps that needed filling.
