I want to install a AM FM -CD system in my swap meet step van and heres my problem its a 24 foot Grumman Olson and its all open inside and a tad noisey. I don't want to break the bank with something that I use a dozen times a year, all I want is a simple system that I can hear and that has good reception any ideas? Who has the best deals for CHEAP? Thanks! Rick
Seriously, the technology out there today. You could go to Best Buy/Circuit City, close your eyes and point and make a good choice. I'd do a brand name (Sony, Pioneer etc) that you have heard or and get something that doesn't have any moving parts (ie: motorized faceplate) that could break. If you are worried about theft, go with a removable face. Most of them put out enough oomph that will match up fine with factory speakers. I have always had good luck with Sony products.
Get a cheap Kenwood.I have one it cost about $80 has 50 watts per channel ,digital tuner and works real well and is reliable .Not only that it comes with all the install guff and is a real quality unit you get more for ya money than all the other good brands............Marq
In the past we used a discman and wired a jack into the factory amp. That way we could pull it out whenever.
do like my dad did in the 60s, get a big reel-to-reel tape deck, preamp, and power amp, and a couple house speakers, powered by an inverter.
Thanks, now I'm seeing the meat of the subject. Yeah there are alot of choices but some ARE better than others! Thirdyfivepickup I'm with you about the best name brands and Sony is well known for quality, I might end up going with one of those thoughts. Marq thanks for the tip about the Kenwood its about what I wanted to spend do you remember what model that was? I know that I could buy from Walmart but what I was trying to hear was who was really happy with a recent purchase. Thanks Rick
