hi, new to the HAMB and happy to be here. i'm working on a 1951 chevy 3100 panel that followed me home. it has a sm 420 4 spd, 235. i have decided to go with the dual carb set up and found a edlebrock mani, with zeniths. so now that i have that i need to decide on a exhaust set up. it seems the fenton is the popular choice but i'd like some opinions. also, what about after the manifold? another question with the new setup. my engine has the remote oil bath canister bolted on the mmanifold. i can't imagine that will work or look right. any input on this subjects would be great
Fentons are nice and so are the ones Tom Langdon sells. He seems to be on vacation until next week though. http://www.langdonsstovebolt.com/store/#!/Exhaust/c/18665952/offset=0&sort=normal You could move the canister or even replace it with a remote spin on mounted away from the engine.
Hi & welcome. That should make a really nice ride. Start a thread & post some photo's as you go here - https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/forums/the-hokey-***-message-board.5/ back in the early 60's I had a stock 46 sedan delivery. Sure wish I had kept that one now. The Fenton headers should fit fine behind the Edelbrock intake. My Avitar shows the 1957 235 engine in my 46 Chevy coupe. It has the Clifford dual intake with 2 two barrel Weber carbs. The Fenton headers would not clear behind that huge oversize water heated intake so I used a set of shorty tube headers (very tight tube bends behind intake) for clearance. Just changed to a T350 auto ****** and a 57 Chevy pickup rear end (6 lug) with a 307 ratio as it is built as a hwy. driver for tours & cruising. I will likely soon remove the 2 stock muffler's and put gl*** pack's on it. My car is down right now as 2 months ago I got rear ended by someone doing 75+ MPH. It is a mess in the rear right now waiting for other drivers insurance settlement. Hope they settle soon so I can get on with the rebuild. Good luck & keep us posted. Jimmie
