so i'm needing to rebuild my carb. its a carter 4bbl. i looked for the stamping numbers, and all i can find are 2 different numbers on opposite sides of the carb that don't seem to mean anything.

i know the number should be stamped on the front by the idle screws. a 4 digit number followed by an S, right? well, it aint there! i pulled the carb and looked everywhere, but nothing other than 6-1398, and 0-1233. what gives?

oh, it's not the stock carb for the car, so i can't go that route in finding a rebuild kit.

    any ideas?

thanks for the links, i think. i checked out em out. the second one lists all the locations the number may be on my carb. then it states that some only came with the stamped steel tag, and had NO numbers on the carb itself. i can't win!!

stupid pontiac, i'm going out to buy a honda.
