carb problems???

    the motor is a 87 sbc and the carb is edelbrock 550-600cfm? and im having problems cant figure out what it is, but the engine wont stay runing and it idles really hi, ive re built the carb and i put a acell hei dissy, the motor used to be TBI ,any one got any idea what it could be?

    I had an edelbrock on a stroker motor that always ran rich, so rich it would foul plugs. Needed to change the metering rods and springs, you may try a different setup, also, make sure the proper vacuum ports are being used for the advance, pcv and that your valves are lashed properly.
