carb questions

I am running a 235 with a trans dapt adapter 2520 for a 2gc Rochester and i bought a 1977 rochester 2 jet are these two carbs different, because the adapter does cover all of the idle circuit of the 2 jet. should i build a plate for that carb to work on the adapter or would i be better off just buying a different carb?

 

is this what you are talking about? i bought this plate on line and it covered everything.

 

Sort of but my adapter covers the intake and it is part of the carb circuit that it doesnt cover
