1952-59 Ford Carb spacer

    Got new carb spacer yesterday gonna put it on today hopefully it helps with the gas boiling and vapor locking fingers crossed

    is it the multi layerd sheild type and is your bowl vent open not capped off.

    its one of those phenolic spacers and not sure on vent how do i check for that vent and it only seems to leak when in parked on an incline or really hot humid days

    Phenolic will help with heat. I'd also check my float level.

    well i just looked in your profile ans see you got a flatty. when i was talking about a vent i figrued it was a newre v8 and carb. is that the fuel line that come out and down across the intake? might raise it up off the intake and give it some air. todays gas is horible and boils easy. you can make a heat sheid deflector easy out of a peice of aluminum

    Several outfits make this shield material - allows armoring up the fuel line at the places where it gets the most heat. Don't overlook spots where the line gets direct "radiation" from exhaust pipes and manifolds - its just as likely to cause problems as hot air off the radiator.

    Thanks guys I tried to insulate fuel line with rubber hose w****d around it may will try to reroute it a little and will check float level it should be ok it was rebuilt last year
