Technical carb upgrade

Discussion in 'Traditional Customs' started by jerdan, Jul 8, 2019.

  1. I am looking to upgrade my 1953 ford flathead to dual carbs. I understand that I need to upgrade my distributor. It is still 6 volt pos ground. What would be the best dizzy to use?

Get hold of Bubba on this site. He does a conversion for your flathead.

Did't Bubba just make a posting, because of his recent illness, that he was't taking on any "NEW" jobs. I hope I'm wrong, but I'd hate to see someone referred to Bubba if he can no longer help them. Maybe he can refer them however. He does have some help in his shop, but they're trying to get caught up on back orders and such. It's all too bad, and I do hope he can eventually return to full time work. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

"Charlie NY" on "The Ford Barn" also does the SBC conversions, and I believe there are a few others out there that do it. There was a thread on the "Barn" about a week ago where more options were mentioned. Also, if you can find one, and old Mallory dual point unit works well. I also had an MSD unit on a 276" Merc I built 20 years ago.
