so last thread was deleted, that's cool i didn't read the guidelines prior to posting. I should have specified that i am swapping the 250 out of my 73' into my 63'. I have a 63 gmc and a 73 gmc. i prefer the 63 but the rings are blown and it has a 305 as well as a busted ******. i was going to take the 250 out of my 73 as well as the ******. rebuild the 305 and put that with a reman transmission in my 73. so i am wanting to find an alternative carb for the 250 as well as intake maybe, as well as possible combinations of stock intakes w/ after market carbs. i am wanting to keep the egr system so i thought about punching a hole in each of the header collectors and welding a bolt there to connect SS lines that feed to the bottom of the intake. does this pertain more to the H.A.M.B.? It fits the year requirement and the custom build.
I cant think of any good reason to keep the EGR, but maybe there is one I dont know. If its just a stock engine, the stock carb is plenty OK for a 250. Hot rodded up may be a different story. You really ought to give more details on what you expect. Good Luck
