for someone looking to get a Carl Perkins CD, which one do you recommend. I like a number of his songs but not sure which album is the best to get.

I was going to say pretty much any of his Sun recordings but Mike nailed with his link.

  8. About 15 years ago(when I still lived in M***achusetts)my wife and I attended the Lowell Folk Festival which was a 4 day long close the streets and have a blast bash. There were 6 parks around the town and they had musicians alternatle playing in all of them.

One group in particular was called the Sun Rhythm Section. They were all Sun Records studio musicians well into their late 60's and early 70's and did the ever play up a storm!

A**** them was Warren Smith(Rock 'n' Roll Ruby)and Sonny Burgess(Red Headed Woman) and sitting in was none other than Carl Perkins! What a concert!

The only bad thing about it was they were selling c***ette tapes of their songs and I didn't buy one! If anyone has ever seen one or knows where they can be had I would be very interested.I don't believe they were ever released commercially.
