A story I've heard but can't confirm; When CS made the first 427 Cobras, they overheated terribly. Carroll went to Ford and asked them to help him with the overheating problem, they politely showed him the door. He bought all the Corvette crossflow radiators from GM dealers in the SoCal area for the BB Cobras, when the Ford big wigs found out that the winning 427 Cobras were running Harrison radiators Ford designed and started supplying the radiators for the 427 Cobras.
R.I.P to a legend and an true innovater and smart business man someday i want to own a real version of his finest 67 427 cobra and a 67 shelby mustang fastback
There should be some fine Shelby stories out there to celebrate his legend in good spirit. I heard that after Shel's heart transplant and recovery that his friends had a roast for him. Dan Gurney rose to the podium and said that he heard that it wasn't a transplant at all but in fact a first time installation.
Don,t know if there is a garage big enough for you Carroll but as it was in 66 at LeMan so to was it in life. You my friend out lasted that ***** Enzo.

A great man with a great mind and he liked to "tinker" with things. He was in my book one of the "Masters" of our profession. If it had his name on it I knew it had be be well researched. He will be missed but never forgotten. Look at the legacy he left us. Normbc9
